After being dumped by the boyfriend she put through law school, Summer weds a perfect stranger. He turns out to be Christian Norton, a billionaire chief executive who needed a wife to satisfy his grandmother. The lead roles are played by Autumn Noel and Lorenzo Brunetti. If you looked up “reelshort married at first sight”, this is the series. Two people who owe each other nothing are suddenly sharing a surname and a kitchen.

Contract and Green-Card Marriages

Everyone pretends it is fine that the wedding in this trope is a transaction. The title of Married for Green Card, Stayed for Love gives away its ending, and somehow that makes it more tempting. The Undercover Billionaire

This genre has nobody who is ever simply a mechanic. A jilted bride in Accelerating Love marries a mechanic who secretly happens to be a billionaire racer, improving both her love life and her garage. The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband uses the same trick over 60 episodes, and it went viral in November 2023, no less. Sebastian, who poses as a penniless ex-con while hiding a fortune, marries Natalie, who takes her step-sister’s place to cover her mother’s medical bills. Married at First Sight’s Christian Norton counts as well. What makes it fun here is dramatic irony. The snobs sneering at him do not know he could buy the building, but you do, and the reveal is the payoff.

The Arranged Mafia Marriage

Swap the boardroom with a family business nobody mentions at dinner, and you have the mafia marriage. On November 1, 2025, ReelShort premiered Bound by Honor, which adapts Cora Reilly’s novel about an arranged mafia marriage.
